Welcome to AldaDrift. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AldaDrift platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
AldaDrift provides a cloud-based platform that generates probabilistic drift forecasts using environmental forecast data and particle modeling techniques.
The Service may include:
- Web-based forecasting tools
- API access
- Simulation outputs and downloadable reports
- Data visualization and analysis tools
The Service is designed to support maritime analysis and operational planning.
2. Decision Support Only
AldaDrift provides probabilistic modeling outputs intended for informational and decision-support purposes only.
Simulation results:
- Are estimates based on forecast environmental data
- Are subject to uncertainty and model limitations
- May differ from real-world outcomes
Users are solely responsible for decisions made based on AldaDrift outputs.
AldaDrift must not be used as the sole basis for operational decisions, including but not limited to:
- Search and rescue deployment
- Navigation decisions
- Oil spill response operations
- Maritime safety actions
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify AldaDrift immediately of unauthorized access
You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.
4. API Access
API access may be provided to certain users or subscription tiers.
Users with API access are responsible for:
- Securing API keys
- Preventing unauthorized use
- Ensuring API requests comply with applicable laws and these Terms
AldaDrift may limit or revoke API access if misuse or excessive system load is detected.
5. Pricing and Payments
The Service may be offered through:
- Credit-based usage
- Subscription plans
- Enterprise agreements
Credits are consumed when simulations are executed.
Purchased credit packs do not expire unless otherwise specified. Subscription credits reset at the start of each billing cycle.
All payments are processed through third-party payment providers.
Prices may change at any time. Changes will not affect previously purchased credits.
6. Refund Policy
Customers may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
Refund requests must be submitted by contacting:
Refunds are issued for purchases made through the AldaDrift website and processed via Paddle.
If a refund is issued, any associated credits or subscription access will be revoked or adjusted accordingly.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time to prevent future billing.
Cancellation stops renewal of the subscription but does not automatically create a refund outside the 14-day refund window.

7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal activities
- Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the platform
- Interfere with system integrity or security
- Conduct automated scraping or denial-of-service attacks
- Use the platform in a way that threatens maritime safety
AldaDrift reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these rules.
8. Data and Simulation Results
Users retain ownership of mission inputs and generated results.
By using the Service, you grant AldaDrift permission to process submitted data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
AldaDrift may retain anonymized operational metrics for system improvement and research.
9. Service Availability
AldaDrift aims to maintain high service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The Service may experience interruptions due to:
- Maintenance
- Infrastructure failures
- Third-party data provider outages
- Force majeure events
Processing time for simulations may vary depending on system load, infrastructure availability, and mission configuration.
10. Third-Party Data Sources
AldaDrift uses environmental data from external providers such as:
- Copernicus Marine Service
- NOAA
- Other meteorological and oceanographic sources
AldaDrift is not responsible for errors or outages in third-party data.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
AldaDrift makes no guarantees regarding:
- Forecast accuracy
- Fitness for operational use
- Uninterrupted availability
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AldaDrift shall not be liable for:
- Operational decisions made using the Service
- Loss of life, property, or environmental damage
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits or business interruption
13. Termination
AldaDrift may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Users may stop using the Service at any time.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Iceland.
15. Changes to the Terms
AldaDrift may update these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
